START SPREADING THE NEWS
How do we (as patients, family members and concerned citizens) tell others about the need for greater awareness (worldwide) of blood cancers and related illnesses? Jodie advocates to world leaders about the following:
Greater awareness: signs & symptoms of Lymphoma.
Safer & faster diagnosis of blood diseases.
More support & research into the needs of younger health consumers.
More assistance for Mothers & Families with illness/disability.
We can all talk to local politicians, business leaders, community leaders and support nationwide charities, that focus in on supporting survivors. These are all wonderful and very important steps to 'make a difference' to those currently fighting, those just finding out they have a blood cancer and those about to be diagnosed.
However, in addition - I feel it is most important to use our personal stories, journeys and challenges to speak to World Leaders, either members of royalty or elected political leaders and prominent people, in the spotlight. Writing to and talking to these influential people, about our personal journeys: creates an opportunity to influence the influencers. They in turn, influence the public, the GP's, doctors, medical staff and public.
As a patient, I am writing to and communicating with world leaders & influencers - sharing my personal story and raising awareness amongst some of the highest in office and stature.
I have been progressively receiving replies and have listed them below to share with you, Whoever we are, we can all make a difference to help others and support other patients.
