Why write a health blog?
Jodie blogs about her journey to inspire other patients/those with life challenges to speak about the trials they have faced. Writing about life -in a positive fashion- can be therapeutic for the writer and help family/friends to understand the road they are treading. The words of the journey can contribute to the strength and inspiration of others facing the same and create a place where many readers -searching for medical/challenge answers- don't feel so lonely.
Jodie recommends health/challenge potential or current bloggers to consider carefully what they write and display on websites/blogs. Often, emotional or difficult days are best spoken about to a doctor or therapist, rather than writing everything in cyberspace. Emotions go up & down, changing from day to day - therefore a medical professional can be very helpful for this purpose

Life has been hectic of late, as we move to a better home and a place where I can find some solitude and peace on a regular basis. The same goes for Greg. The newer house that has a great big yard for our girls, views over a reserve and a zoo, close at hand. We move in this week and are extremely happy about that. 6 years of renovating is enough for us. Other than all the fun of being between houses with 2 kids, I've had the opportunity to speak with some important decision makers, in terms of changing our medical system.

Mabthera maintenence therapy No#4 went well today. Of course a good dose of phenergan always knocks me out. I see such a vast array of people in the cancer care unit. it is amazing the amount of ethnic people in there. I am surprised to see young, old, middle age all fighting the same thing. All bald, white in the face, connected to machines, morphine, chemo pumps, etc.

My first blog. We had a bit of a scare and are thankful that a recent emergency MRI, was even clearer than the last scan. It did reveal a good deal of scar tissue. My R toes and leg have showed signs of numbness. My heamotologist and I will be consulting with a neurologist to discuss monitoring of my leg and toes. Not many surgeons will attempt sciatic surgery, it is a risky location to go.

As I write this latest life writing - the wind is howling outside - not odd for Queensland, but odd because it was not predicted for the weather forecast today. My Bamboo lined against my back fence is swaying back 'n' forth, whipping with the wind in unpredictable ways. My birdbath water is swaying to the constant flicks of an invisible power that is 'the wind'. Wind - what an incredible power it is. Not just for creating and making power, via wind farms, etc - but, for blowing leaves, almost cleaning gutters and maybe not cleaning in some places - but, making a mess.

Enjoying life | no matter what the challenge. This is my latest life blog subject. Yes, I am still blogging on my life blog. I haven't forgotten. I get caught up in family life, in errands, in looking after the home, kids, pets, husband and paperwork. Being a Mum and a wife can be a busy calling. It can also be a mundane job for many Mum's around the world. This includes Dad's and other carers. The rewards come in ways that we don't expect - smiles, cute gifts, lots of hugs and kisses and from fur-babies - lots of sloppy licks. Yes, it's hard work - particularly if you're a single Mum or Dad and also if you've got an illness or a disability.

Empathy - is an amazing word. It means much too many, in various camps. Whether you're a person of faith or an emerging believer, empathy can come with the territory. I also believe it is written on the heart of every human being and belongs to the beginnings of our creation. Hopefully, it is something we all try to strive for. It usually can come (like a tidal wave) after a sole or series of challenges in one's life.

Today I will write about something close to my heart - The miracle of life!! I don't think that any of us understand how significant it is that so many of us have a near miss occasionally. Driving, walking across the road, injury, accidents, battling a disease - Death tries to swallow us regularly, but we don't see it or recognize it, for ourselves. We may get a small hint when a friend suffers a close call, a relative passes away (close or distant), maybe we have a dream about ourselves 'passing away'. It can be frightening, yet a relief to find ourselves OK and alive after a midnight dream scare. Life has not ended, just yet.

Opportunity is one of those words we all seem to be hunting, from the first moments of our life (a baby seeking an opportunity to feed) to the last moments of our life (a man or a woman seeking their final goodbyes, an opportunity to put it all right). And certainly all through our lives, every day in fact – we are looking for opportunities. A quiet moment to have a rest, a space in the traffic to merge over, an empty checkout or maybe even the right moment to raise a subject with your spouse. Opportunity is everywhere and we become honed in our skills in capturing these moments, probably more than we realise.

Hello again to my family, friends & supporters. ★Life can often throw us some curveballs, I know all about that. What is a curveball, you ask? In baseball terms - a curveball is a type of pitch in baseball thrown with a characteristic grip and hand movement that imparts forward spin causing the ball to dive in a downward path as it approaches the plate. In the movie with Kevin Costner (For Love of the Game) – by the end of his career, the character: Billy Chapel – has thrown so many special pitches and curveballs that his limb equipment starts to fail on him. As a pitcher, there is nothing worse than losing your ability to pitch out your opponent it would be enough to drive a talented athlete to ground.

Hey all & welcome to my new life blog. On this page, I will blog about non-medical issues and lessons I have seen and observed along the way. I have been told that I am a creative spirit - I guess this is why I have won art awards in the past and why I enjoy creating and web designing. I would ♥ (soon) to study for an art degree of some kind, art & creativity runs in my veins - whether it's painting, writing, web designing or speaking.
