Hello to my faithful family & friends

Some exciting media opportunities have arisen for myself to participate in and be part of. The first one was via ABC Radio National, on a programme called 'All In The Mind' with host 'Lynne Malcolm'. Lynne's programme focuses on mental health and the importance of taking care of it. She also covers lots of topics in regards to families and the latest research in this area.

Recently, I volunteered to be part of a new study called the 'Australian Genetics of Depression Study' by the research group QIMR Berghofer Medical Institute. The study needs to find 20,000 volunteers to find the genes associated with Clinical Depression.

As part of the study, I was asked by VIVA! Communications to assist with the PR side of the promotion of the study. This is why I took part in the 'All In The Mind' Radio National segment. Another great opportunity has been through the website www.mydeal.com.au - who love blogging to their customers about all sorts of important topics. In this latest blog, I was able to give my thoughts on marriage and why I feel it is so important. My whole angle about marriage is that it offers safety, love and health for the two people (one man and one woman) who then go on to create a unique and important family unit.

I have now been married for 20 years. I am amazed that my incredible husband has stuck by us, through multiple disability, multiple illness and difficult times. Some men would have 'taken off' for greener pastures - but as a reward for his dedication, I will then be committed to him when he goes through his own difficulties.
